Norma Jean Gilbert Parham, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2026, at the age of 86.

She was born on June 3, 1939, to James Otto and Bertie Gilbert, in Dublin, Texas, and lived a life deeply rooted in faith, love, and devotion to her family. A faithful member of Cottonwood Church, Norma loved the Lord with all her heart. Her faith guided her throughout her life and was reflected in the kindness, strength, and compassion she showed to others.

Above all, Norma cherished her family. Being “Nanna” was one of her greatest joys, and she poured endless love into her parents, daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She found happiness in time spent together, in laughter, and in the simple moments that made lasting memories. Her love was steady, unconditional, and deeply felt by all who knew her.

Norma was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her daughter, Sylvia Burleson; her grandchildren, Emily, Brayden, Shannon, Laramie, and Faith; and her great-grandchildren, Addy Jean, Eloise, Emerson, Wylder, and Eden. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Blanca, and her nieces, Laurie and Jackie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Otto and Bertie Gilbert, her son-in-law, Erik and her brother, Charles.

Norma will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her unwavering faith, and the deep love she had for her family and friends. Her life was a testament to the love of Christ, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

She will be dearly missed and forever loved.

Funeral Information

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 12, at the Harrell Funeral Home in Dublin. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 14, in the Pecan Cemetery in Dublin.
