Barbara Francis (Capell) Murphree, age 84, of Arp, Texas, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler, Texas. Graveside services will be held at Barbee Cemetery in Edna Hill, Texas.
Barbara was born on January 14, 1942, in Dublin, Texas, to Oris Desma (Red) Capell and Lottie (Littleton) Capell. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Jerry Allen Murphree; her parents, Oris Desma and Lottie Capell; her brother, O.D. Capell; and her sister, Betha Davis, and granddaughter, Maggie Murphree.
Barbara is survived by her sister, Burlene Brown and her husband, Dale; her three daughters, Julie Conn and her husband, Michael, DeAnna Loudermilk and her husband, Steven, Lisa Bundy and her husband, Jeffery; and her son, Jimmy Murphree and wife, Kim. She also leaves behind eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Her family and friends will remember Barbara for her cherished presence and lasting influence.
Service Information
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, at the Barbee Cemetery in Erath County.
