STEPHENVILLE — Tarleton State Women’s Golf earned more hardware on Friday afternoon as the conference office tabbed Louise Depadt as WAC Golfer of the Year and Isabel Jimenez as the WAC Co-Coach of the Year. Depadt and Lou Deltombe each were selected to the All-WAC First Team.
Depadt is the outright WAC Golfer of the Year after being named Co-Golfer of the Year last season. In addition to WAC Golfer of the Year, she also earned an All-WAC First Team selection. Depadt won her second consecutive WAC Individual Championship crown last week at the Clubs of Stonebridge Ranch carding a one-over, 217, to win by two strokes. After starting out on the first round with a two-over, 74, Depadt finished day one in a tie for fifth. On her second round she shot a one-under, 71, to pull into second place in the individual standings, one shot behind the leader. She was the most consistent golfer of the weekend shooting one over on the final round to secure her back-to-back crown.
Depadt is the fifth golfer in the WAC to win back-to-back individual titles and the first since Idaho’s Kayla Mortellaro in 2011 and 2012. With Depadt’s second title, it makes the Purple and White the ninth program with multiple individual championship titles. Tarleton State is the only current WAC program with multiple individual championships and one of four current institutions with at least one individual championship.
After missing the final four events of the fall due to injury, Depadt was determined to come back strong in the spring. She started with a bang winning the Texas State Invitational Individual title while setting new program records for a single round as well as for 54 holes. On her second round she shot an eight-under 64 to set the new 18-hole Texan record. She finished the three-round event with a personal best 11-under, 205 and the new Tarleton State 54-hole record. Depadt posted three top two finishes in their five regular season invitationals including her second title of the spring at the Riverbend Intercollegiate. She shot five-under in her first round and finished the tournament with a five-under, 211.
Throughout her season slate, in total Depadt earned three individual titles while playing in seven tournaments. Out of her 21 rounds, she shot 12 even or under par rounds and finished under par after 54 holes twice. She is ranked as the 196th golfer in the nation according to Clippd and she is ranked 238th in the World Amateur Golf Rankings.
Head coach Jimenez was tabbed as the Co-Coach of the Year for the second-straight year after winning back-to-back WAC team championship titles. A year after winning the program’s first WAC Championship, Jimenez led the Texans to a back-to-back title, this time winning by 11 strokes. The Texans became the sixth program to earn back-to-back WAC women’s golf titles in consecutive seasons. Tarleton State is now one of six programs to win multiple team titles. The Texans are the only current WAC school with multiple team championships as well as the only current WAC school to have earned a team victory.
Throughout the regular season, the Texans were consistently in the top of the leaderboards. The Purple and White posted its best team finish at the Texas State Invitational tying for second in their spring season opener. Tarleton State strung together three top four team finishes and seven top six team performances. Individually, the Texans placed in the top 20 on 20 occasions with eight of those coming in the top 10. Tarleton State also notched the individual champion in the regular season twice.
Lou Deltombe earned a First Team All-WAC selection after tying for second place at the 2026 WAC Championships. The senior posted her highest finish at the WAC Championships shooting a dominant final two rounds to climb the leaderboards into a top two finish. After starting off with a four-over, 74, she closed with a two-under, 70 and one-over, 73, to finish at three-over, 219.
Throughout the regular season, Deltombe was consistently one of the Texans top golfers. She posted four-consecutive top 20 finishes and totaled six in the regular season. Deltombe’s highest performance came at the Texas State Invitational where she placed ninth overall. She tied for the best single round in program history with a six-under 66, just before Depadt broke the record in the second round. She tallied seven even or under-par rounds throughout the season.
Tarleton State Women’s Golf is heading back to an NCAA Regional for the second-consecutive season in just their second season eligible for NCAA postseason play. The Texans were selected as the 11th seed in the Waco regional that will begin on May 11 at the Ridgewood Country Club.
