Janet Lee Pryor, age 72, of Proctor, Texas, also known as, A Wife, Mother, Grandma, Nana and Auntie passed away peacefully on May 6, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas, surrounded by the love of her family. Janet was born on August 21, 1953, in Pasadena, California to Wilfred Elmer Parent and Juanita Jones Parent.
Janet was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, cherished sister, and loyal friend.
On January 19, 1993, she married the love of her life, Don Pryor, in Stephenville, Texas. Together they built a life centered around family, love, and lasting memories.
She worked as an instructor at a beauty school, where she touched the lives of many students through her patience, kindness, and encouragement. Janet had a warm spirit and a caring heart that made people feel welcome wherever she went.
More than anything, Janet loved spending time with her family. Her happiest moments were those shared with the people she loved most, along with her beloved dog, Nitro, who brought her great joy and companionship.
Janet is survived by her husband, Don Pryor; her children, Alison Pollock and husband Jamie of Proctor, Spencer Barr of Proctor, Deborah Henderson and husband Jimmy of Kerrville,; her grandchildren: Neva, Lealond, Andrea, Joshua, and Travis; her siblings, Dale Parent and wife Joanne, and Gregory Parent; along with her bonus children, grandchildren, great grand children, and numerous extended family members and friends who will deeply miss her presence.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Steven Earl Parent.
Janet will be remembered for her loving heart, gentle nature, strength, and the unwavering love she gave to her family and friends. Her memory will live on in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the love she leaves behind.
A memorial service to celebrate Janet’s life will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Lacy Funeral Home. The family invites all who knew and loved Janet to come together in honoring a life well lived and deeply loved.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to help ease the accrued and final funeral expenses.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, at Lacy Funeral Home Chapel in Stephenville.
