(March 12, 1963 — June 5, 2026)
Terri King, 63, of Carlton, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Her passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her, but her legacy of faith, love, kindness, and devotion will live on for generations.
Terri was born in Sweetwater, Texas, and was the beloved daughter of Elzie Ann Burleson, Kenneth Burleson, and Gerald Warren. She built a life centered on faith, family, and service to others, touching countless lives with her warm smile, compassionate heart, and unwavering love.
She was the devoted wife of Bruce King, whose partnership and love were a source of strength and joy throughout their years together. Terri was a loving mother to Chad Warren, Haley Keen and husband Matthew Keen, and Casi Vazquez and husband Erick Vazquez. Her children were among her greatest blessings, and she dedicated her life to loving, supporting, and encouraging them.
Terri’s greatest joy was being “Nana” to her cherished grandchildren: Aden Williams, Colton Keen, Austin Hooper, Caleb Keen, Alex Hooper, Abbey Esparza, Emma Keen, and Creed Keen. Each grandchild held a special place in her heart, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Whether attending their activities, sharing stories, offering advice, or simply spending time together, Terri’s love for her grandchildren knew no bounds.
She is also survived by her loving sisters, Toni Gilbert and Tammy Bates, along with many extended family members, dear friends, and all those blessed to know her.
Terri loved her Carlton Baptist Church family and found great comfort, purpose, and fellowship through her faith. Her relationship with God guided her life and was reflected in the kindness, generosity, and grace she showed to everyone around her.
Those who knew Terri will remember her as a devoted wife, the best mom, and the most perfect Nana. Her family was her whole world, and she was the whole world to her family and friends. She had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel loved, welcomed, and valued. Her laughter, wisdom, gentle spirit, and unconditional love will be deeply missed but forever cherished.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Terri’s love remains with us and that her beautiful spirit will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A memorial service celebrating Terri’s life will be held on June 11, 2026, 2:00 pm at Carlton Baptist Church in Carlton, Texas.
“Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure. She was loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.”
