Elida Moreno Haynes was born March 20, 1948, to Jose and Emilia Hernandez Moreno in Lampasas, Texas. She passed away on July 22, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas at the age of 78.

During her last day, she was surrounded by family and friends. God gave her the clarity to share her last thoughts, hugs, love and words of wisdom with them.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Jose and Emilia Moreno and brother, Saragoza Moreno. She is survived by her daughters Le’Anna Haynes of Burleson, Texas; Adrienne Haynes of Burleson, Texas; Randi Hallam, husband Michael and their children Axle, Rhyker, Hartlii, Tinslii and Reign of Stephenville, Texas; Brother Jose Moreno, Jr and his wife Carmen of Allen, Texas; Sister Mary Ellen McCormick of Bedford, Texas; Sister Rose Ann Gable of Abilene, Texas; and Sister Mary Ann Gore of Comanche, Texas along with multiple nieces and nephews.

She was affectionally known by many nicknames: Heda, Eli, and Lida

She graduated from Comanche High School and received her Associate Degree in Nursing from Paris Junior College. She spent her entire career serving her community as a Registered Nurse. Elida was dedicated to the care of her patients and was an advocate for them and their families. She was an inspiration to her family and those around her who also desired to enter the medical field. Her fierce love, generosity, humor, and intelligence leave a legacy that will endure for many generations.

Service Information

Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 p.m. on Friday, July 31, at the Comanche Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, in the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Comanche County Garden of Memory Cemetery.
