John S Feltner Sr., age 88, of Stephenville, TX, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Stephenville Nursing. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, a retired USPS letter carrier, and a member of the Catholic Church. He was born in Confluence, Kentucky, to Taylor Feltner and Eva Jean Bowling. Growing up in Kentucky, he developed a love and interest in gaited horses. Later in life, he and his wife (Tita) bred and raised several World Champion Tennessee Walking Horses sired by his prized stallion, Coin Bad News. He also enjoyed U.K. basketball, hunting, fishing, and working on their horse farm. He loved people and loved to give you a hard time. His greatest love was his great grandchildren; they held a special place in his heart.
He is preceded in death by his brothers Raleigh Feltner, Walter Feltner, Jim Feltner, Taylor Feltner Jr. and sister Bess Schoenung.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years Tita Feltner. Sons: Gary Feltner (Amy Feltner), John Feltner Jr. (Susan Feltner). Brothers: Ronald Feltner and Roland Feltner. Sisters: Opha Woods, Marie Mitchell (Lonis Mitchell) and Katie Morgan. Five grandchildren: Zach Diaz, David Feltner (Rosie Feltner), Chelsea Hammack, Cailin Riedel, and Cody Feltner, and eight great grandchildren.
