STEPHENVILLE — Tarleton State Soccer has earned back-to-back United Athletic Conference weekly awards.
On Monday, the UAC announced that Tarleton State’s Jessica Baires is the UAC Player of the Week for matches played Sept. 7-13.
Baires recorded four points in Tarleton State’s lone match on the week, a 4-0 Tarleton State shutout at Prairie View A&M on Friday. Baires recorded a goal and two assists, involved in three of the Texans’ four goals on the night. Baires had the most points in the UAC on the week, the most assists in the UAC on the week, and the tied-most goals in the UAC on the week. Baires leads the UAC in assists on the season with six, logging five over her past two matches. Tarleton State was one of two UAC teams this week to have a win without a loss or draw (Austin Peay). Tarleton State had the best goal differential among all UAC teams last week (+4). Tarleton State won its first match of the season on Friday, improving to 1-2-5 (.438) on the year.
Also recognized by the conference on Monday were Abilene Christian’s Audrey Coppinger (UAC Defensive Player of the Week) and Austin Peay’s Megan Waskiewicz (UAC Goalkeeper of the Week).
