Dan P. Hardisty, 94, of Stephenville, formerly of Clovis, New Mexico, passed away Tuesday afternoon, September 15, 2026, in Stephenville, Texas. He was born July 19, 1932, to the late Benjamin and Dolly Hardisty in Honey Section, New Mexico—a section of land between Portales and Clovis. Dan was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.

Throughout his life, Dan wore many hats, filled numerous roles, and touched countless lives. He was a rancher, farmer, youth advocate, and influential figure in the banking business. Dan served on the Clovis School Board and was a founding member of the High Plains Junior Rodeo Association. An equine enthusiast and supporter, he loved horse racing and served on the Horsemen’s Committee for the Ruidoso Racetrack. He also served as president of First National Bank of Clovis and as a board member of New Mexico Bank & Trust. Dan proudly served his country in the U.S. Army stationed at Fort Bliss during the Korean War.

Dan was a sports enthusiast who particularly loved playing golf and watching football.

Most of all, Dan cherished spending time with his family.

Dan is survived by his wife of 26 years, Barbara Hardisty; his daughter, Kathy (Tom) Ward; his son, Dennis (Peggy) Hardisty; his sisters, Helen Mercer and Carolyn Hardisty Ruiz; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his first wife, Christene Hardisty, his brothers, John, Benny, and Jerry Hardisty, and his sister, Lucy Harrison.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on October 5, 2026, at Lacy Funeral Home in Stephenville, Texas.

A second memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on October 12, 2026, at Clovis Point Events at the Colonial Park Golf Course.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Lighthouse Mission, 407 L. Casillas Street, Clovis, New Mexico 88101.
