STEPHENVILLE — Another week, another UAC Player of the Week award for Tarleton State.
The United Athletic Conference announced on Monday that Tarleton State quarterback Kaden Anderson has been named the UAC Offensive Player of the Week. That’s three straight UAC Offensive Player of the Week awards for the Texans, and now through four games, Tarleton State Football has earned six conference player of the week honors.
Anderson completed 23-of-32 (.719) passes for 407 yards, three touchdowns and no turnovers in Tarleton State’s home win 45-20 vs. Merrimack on Saturday. Anderson’s 407 pass yards were the most across the UAC this week, and his three pass touchdowns were the tied-most in the UAC. Anderson’s 407 pass yards were a career-high, and he recorded the first 400-yard pass game by a Texan in four years (Oct. 8, 2022) and the most pass yards by a Texan since Ben Holmes had 451 on Nov. 16, 2019. Anderson’s three pass touchdowns tied a season-high. He now has eight pass touchdowns, two rush touchdowns and 1,200 pass yards this season without a turnover.
The Texans improved to 11-0 on their Family Weekend since Todd Whitten took the program back over in 2016. The Texans have started 4-0 for the second straight season, their first such stretch since 2018-19. They went a combined 23-2 in those seasons. Since the beginning of 2025, the Texans are 15-1 in the regular season
Other UAC awards announced on Monday were Austin Peay’s Malik Denkins named UAC Defensive Player of the Week, Abilene Christian’s Brandon Perez named UAC Special Teams Player of the Week, and North Alabama’s Xavier Johnson as Freshman of the Week.
