STEPHENVILLE — Tarleton State’s Kaden Anderson is playing at an all-time level.
The Texan quarterback earned his third straight UAC Offensive Player of the Week award on Monday, and his fourth overall this season. Tarleton State Football has now earned 12 conference player of the week honors across eight games this year.
Anderson completed 14-of-24 passes for 296 yards, four touchdowns, no interceptions, plus rushed for 17 yards and a touchdown, in Tarleton State’s 49-6 road win at West Georgia. The No. 1 ranked Texans improved to 8-0 overall and 3-0 in UAC play. Anderson accounted for five touchdowns on the day, the most by a UAC player on the week, with the next closest at three. Anderson was the only UAC player with 3+ pass touchdowns on the week, and he had four, plus he had the most pass yards. He spread his touchdown passes across four different receivers, and his 14 completions across seven different receivers. Anderson also had the tied-most rush touchdowns by a UAC player this week – and he’s a QB.
Anderson is the first Texan since 2014 to have consecutive games with 5+ total touchdowns, the first since Colin Strahan did it on Oct. 11-18, 2014. During Anderson’s two-game stretch, he’s thrown for nine touchdowns and rushed in one. This was his fifth straight game with 3+ pass touchdowns, and his sixth overall on the season. He now has 24 pass touchdowns on the year, tied-most in the FCS and most in the UAC (next closest at 14). Anderson has 2,268 pass yards on the year, fifth most in the country and most in the UAC.
Tarleton State is one of three teams in the FCS still undefeated on the year, along with SFA and Harvard. Across all of D1 football (FBS and FCS), Tarleton State is one of six undefeated teams remaining (Miami, UCLA and Utah at FBS level). Tarleton State and SFA have the most wins among all D1 teams with eight. Tarleton State is No. 1 in the FCS in total offense (506.0 YPG), tied-first in scoring offense (41.9 PPG) and fourth in passing offense (297.5 YPG). The Texans have started 8-0 for the second straight season, their first such stretch since 2018-19. Since the beginning of 2025, the Texans are 19-1 in the regular season. Tarleton State is 13-1 over its past 14 regular season games on the road, dating back to 2024. The Texans improved to 3-0 all-time against West Georgia.
The other UAC award announced on Monday were Eastern Kentucky’s Jayden Marable named UAC Defensive Player of the Week, EKU’s Ryder Hooks named UAC Special Teams Player of the Week, and Austin Peay’s Denver Harper named UAC Freshman of the Week.
