Game 2: No. 25 Tarleton 6, Western New Mexico 1
Tarleton’s TexAnn softball team is riding a 12-game winning streak and has recorded its second straight 30-win season after a wild week of play that featured seven games in five days.
“It was a hard-fought weekend,” said head coach Mark Cumpian. “Seven games in five days is a tough stretch and we were definitely a little sluggish, but I’m proud of the way we powered through against a much-improved Western New Mexico team. Now we need to get some rest and get ready to face Angelo State next weekend.”
Senior right-hander Megan Rosewell threw a complete game and remained perfect on the season stretching her unblemished record mark out to nine games. Rosewell gave up six hits and allowed just one run while striking out three without issuing a walk.
Senior hitter Megan Durante collected two base raps in the contest as did sophomore slugger Maddie Quintanar.

Sophomore pitcher Jordan Withrow struck out eight batters in a complete game performance that saw Tarleton blank Western New Mexico for the second straight game.
Tarleton got on the scoreboard with a single run in the first inning, but it was a long time before another TexAnn would cross the plate in the sixth inning. Despite the lack of offense, Withrow remained unphased as she gave up just four hits and improved to 16-4 on the season.
Tarleton is 30-6 on the season and has a 12-6 record in Lone Star Conference play they will be traveling to San Angelo for a four-game series this weekend.
