‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ on stage Feb. 7 at Tarleton theater

3140Sport: STEPHENVILLE (January 29, 2015) — Tarleton State University’s Department of Fine Arts continues its annual Young People’s Series with a performance of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on Saturday, Feb. 7, in the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center Auditorium.
Two public performances will be held, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., with each show running about one hour. Tickets are $3 each and all seating is general admission. The box office opens one hour prior to each show.

Cast members will take the audience on an adventurous tour of Willy Wonka’s world-famous chocolate factory as Augustus Gloop (Joey Wehnert), Violet Beauregarde (Andrea Figerella), Veruca Salt (Madison Paradis), Grandpa George (Jesus Rodriguez), Willy Wonka (Brayden Doty) and Charlie Bucket (Willie Byrum) come to life. The play is based on the popular book by Roald Dahl and dramatized by Richard R. George.

The play is directed by senior theater major Austin Long, with Emily Trinque as stage manager and Mary Meiron as set designer.
