MEMORIAL SERVICE: 10:30 A.M. Saturday, August 12, 2017, at Pettit Baptist Church.

David Brush, age 73, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2017, in Comanche County, Texas.

He was born on December 10, 1943, in Gorman, Texas, to Marshall David and Fay (Johnson) Brush. On September 21, 1963, he was united in marriage to Barbara Jane Craddock in Comanche County. She preceded him in death on February 13, 2014. For thirteen years David worked in the aircraft industry, and he drove a truck for ten years. He was always working and had many interests and projects. He built a few pair of riding spurs and had a barrel shop where he re-rifled gun barrels. He competed in muzzle loaders and single shot competitions for many years, where, in his words, he “won some and lost some”. David loved to fish and he and Barbara spent many summers in their RV in New Mexico pursuing this hobby. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and was always contemplating the next “trick” to entertain his family and many friends.

He is survived by two daughters, Daviddie Lester and husband Jim of Comanche, and Barbara Childress and partner Jan of College Station; three grandchildren, Joel Chad Lester and wife Chandra of College Station, Mollie Lester and B.J. Sears of Lamkin, and Jameson Cord Lester of Stephenville; great-grandchildren Aubri Lester of College Station and Hayden Sears of Lamkin and a great-grandson due in December. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall David and Fay Brush; wife, Barbara Jane Brush; and great-grandson Jeremiah Craddock Lester.
