Sport: LINGLEVILLE (November 25, 2014) — Perhaps Lingleville just needed a half to get warmed up.
The Cardinals led De Leon just 19-18 at the intermission Tuesday night, but blew the Bearcats away after the break for a 56-38 victory.
“We finally started hitting some shots,” said Lingleville head coach Kade Eckert. “We had four double digit scorers, similar to last year, so we’ll take it. We beat the same team by seven a week ago, and now we beat them by 18, so we’re improving.”
Tim Griffin unloaded 19 points and was joined in double figures by Lingleville teammates Colbe Stoker with 13, Tom Van Kranenburg 10 and Sergio Rangel 10.
“I really believe we could press better than the last two years and I thought we would shoot the ball better,” Eckert said. “I’m seeing signs of us being that way, but we’re not there yet. We have a lot of work to do.”
