Gutierrez, Gibson named alternates to volleyball all-star game

Sport: STEPHENVILLE (December 7, 2014) — Lauren Gutierrez and Morgan Gibson have been named alternates to the Texas Girls Coaches Association All-Star Game, head coach Fran Metzger confirmed Friday.

Gutierrez, a senior libero, and Gibson, a senior outside hitter, were the district defensive and offensive players of the year, respectively, in 6-4A. Gutierrez was also a TGCA 4A all-state selection.

The tandem helped Stephenville to its third consecutive area championship and an appearance in the regional quarterfinals, where they were eliminated by Decatur on its way to a second straight state title.
