(December 8, 2014) — Tiffany Lopez and Narda Fragoza combined for 19 of Huckaby’s 21 fourth quarter points as the Lady Indians topped Ranger 60-57 in the final of the Perrin Tournament Saturday.
The Lady Indians won the tournament championship with Lopez scoring 21 points, including 12 in the fourth, and Fragoza pouring in 16, seven of those in the fourth. It was their third victory in three days in the event.
Others scoring for Huckabay in the championship were Leann Green with 11, all in the first half, Presli Bray six and Bailey Woolridge six.
In the opening round, Huckabay thumped Chico 53-35. Lopez scored 12, Bray 11, Taylor Lowe 10, Wooridge nine, Fragoza eight and Green three.
In the semifinal, the Lady Indians upset No. 16 Slidell 43-30. Bray scored 13, Fragoza 12, Woolridge six, Green six, Lowe three and Lopez three.
After the tough tournament final, Huckabay and Ranger tangle again Tuesday evening. The Lady Indians visit Ranger at 6 p.m. following a 5 p.m. junior varsity contest.
