  • … WINTER PRECIPITATION POSSIBLE LATE TONIGHT AND INTO THIS WEEKEND FOR PARTS OF THE AREA…
  • LIGHT FREEZING RAIN MAY RESULT IN A GLAZE OF ICE ACCUMULATING ON ELEVATED SURFACES ACROSS PARTS OF CENTRAL TEXAS LATE TONIGHT INTO TOMORROW MORNING. LOCATIONS MOST LIKELY TO SEE A GLAZE OF ICE ARE ALONG AND SOUTHWEST OF A LINE FROM GOLDTHWAITE TO WACO TO CAMERON. ROADS ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN LARGELY ICE FREE… HOWEVER SOME SLICK SPOTS ON BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES CANNOT BE RULED OUT. TEMPERATURES ACROSS THIS AREA ARE EXPECTED TO RANGE FROM 30 TO 34 DEGREES… WHICH WILL LIMIT TRAVEL IMPACTS. HOWEVER… BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES SHOULD BE TRAVELLED ON VERY CAREFULLY WITHIN THESE AREAS AS ANY SLICK SPOTS WILL BE VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE.
  • ANOTHER ROUND OF PRECIPITATION WILL ARRIVE SATURDAY INTO SUNDAY FOR THE ENTIRE REGION. MOST OF THIS PRECIPITATION WILL BE IN THE FORM OF RAIN… BUT SOME FREEZING RAIN WILL BE POSSIBLE WHEREVER TEMPERATURES DIP BELOW 32 DEGREES. LOCATIONS MOST LIKELY TO DIP BELOW FREEZING SATURDAY NIGHT ARE LOCATIONS NORTH OF THE INTERSTATE 30 CORRIDOR… AND EAST OF THE INTERSTATE 35 CORRIDOR. VERY LIGHT ICE ACCUMULATIONS ON ELEVATED SURFACES ARE POSSIBLE MAINLY SATURDAY NIGHT. THIS MAY RESULT IN MINOR TRAVEL CONCERNS… BUT SIGNIFICANT ICE ACCUMULATIONS ARE NOT EXPECTED. A COLD RAIN IS EXPECTED AREA WIDE BY MID MORNING SUNDAY AFTER TEMPERATURES WARM ABOVE FREEZING.
