Sport: (January 9, 2015) — Shadd Cole is the best “private” school six-man football player in Texas, according to Six-Man Mania.
Cole, the star spread back and linebacker who has led Stephenville FAITH to three consecutive Texas Christian Athletic League Division II championships, is listed as Private School MVP and a first-team all-state selection.
Area public school stars Harrison Nowak of Strawn and Chase Mackey of Gordon were also honored, Nowak on the first team and Mackey on the second.
Nowak smashed single-game state and national records – regardless of classification – when he passed for 845 yards and 15 touchdowns in Strawn’s 109-66 victory over Gustine.
Mackey led Gordon to the 1A Division I quarterfinals, where the Longhorns lost to district rival and state finalist May.
