FUNERAL SERVICES: 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 24, 2015, at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel.

BURIAL: Zion Hill Cemetery in Comanche County

VISITATION: Family will receive friends at Comanche Funeral Home on Friday from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

LUNCH: Lunch for the family will be at East Side Baptist Church at 12:00 Noon on Saturday.

MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, the Family requests memorial gifts to be made to the Zion Hill Cemetery Association, c/o John Beaty, 100 CR 489, De Leon, Texas 76444; or Gartman View Freewill Baptist Church 11601 Hwy 16 N, Comanche, Texas 76442.

Arlis Burnett Easley, age 94, of Odessa, TX, passed from this life into eternity on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Odessa Regional Medical Center.

Born March 29, 1920 at home on the Easley farm in Comanche County, TX to Luke Ellery Easley and Bernice (Bowers) Easley, Arlis graduated from Comanche High School in 1938. At age 14, he gave his life to Jesus Christ under the old tabernacle at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Comanche.

Arlis married the love of his life and the prettiest red head he had ever seen, Molene Hicks, on August 1, 1940 by, and at the home of, his grandfather, Rev. Robert Burnett Easley in Comanche. Arlis and Molene had and raised two wonderful sons, Jimmie Arlis and Edwin Earl Easley. He was always willing to talk and help family members when they needed it and, while working for Ector Drum, he treated employees like family and helped them during hard times. Arlis was on several committees in the churches of which they were members, which included Ashmore Baptist in Cedar Lake Stanolind Camp, East Side Baptist in McCamey and Crescent Park Baptist Church in Odessa

He is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, Molene Easley; sons Jim Easley and wife Linda and Ed Easley and wife Elaine, all of Odessa; grandsons Shane Easley and wife Jody of Brownwood, Lance Easley and fiancé Marla Miles of Odessa, Eric Easley of Odessa and Evan Easley and wife Amy of Gardendale; granddaughter Senee Holditch and husband Brian of Richardson; great-grandchildren Ryan Easley and fiancé Sarah Vest of Odessa, Julia Easley of Austin, Jenna Easley of Wichita, Kansas, Emma and Davis Easley of Gardendale, Ethan, Elissa, Emilee and Easton Easley of Odessa, and C.J. Holditch of Richardson; step great-grandsons Grayson and Cooper Swanzy of Brownwood; Marla’s daughters Presley and Lexi Black of Odessa; brothers Luke Easley and Harold Easley and wife Carolyn, all of Comanche; three sisters-in-law Robbie Ripley and husband Earl of Comanche, Jeannie Schultz of Moody and Doris Hicks of Midland; brother-in-law Jackie Hicks and wife Mary Jane of Comanche; and several nieces and nephews.

Arlis was preceded in death by his parents, Luke and Bernice Easley; his brother, Sherrill Easley and wife Marie; parents-in-law, Harvey and Artie May Hicks; three brothers-in-law, Olan Hicks and wife Louise, Robert Hicks and Clarence Schultz; and two sisters-in-law, Imogene Easley and Nita Hicks and husband James.
