MEMORIAL MASS: 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 13, 2015, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brownwood, Texas.

Robert Reed Chaison, Jr., age 66, of Comanche County, Texas, died peacefully at home on Thursday, February 5, 2015.

He was born on December 3, 1948, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Robert R. and Mary Florence (True) Chaison. On November 4, 1995, he was united in marriage to Mignonne Johnson in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brownwood, Texas. Robert graduated from Sul Ross State University. For forty years he worked for the Texas Department of State Health Services. He was a life-long Catholic and was very active in the Church, serving as a Lector and Parish Council Vice President. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree Assembly, and Past President of the Board of Good Samaritan Ministries. Robert loved horses, good books, arrowhead hunting and reciting cowboy poetry. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brownwood.

He is survived by his wife, Mignonne Chaison of Comanche County; daughter, Doshia Holt; and son, Robert Reed Chaison III, both of Texas; grandson, Joshua Korbin Holt; sister, Marydell Ponce and Roger Wyatt of Arkansas; nephews, Chris and Josh Ponce, Rob Nelson, and Mark and Antonio Johnson; nieces, Victoria Johnson and Billie Nicole Kunkle; three sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert R. and Mary Florence Chaison.
