Stephenville (March 20, 2015) – Choices Clinic & Life Resource Center is hosting their 1st Annual Choices Tea & Fashion Show on Saturday, March 28, at Paradigm Building with the theme of reclaiming modesty.

“The message surrounding young women, and older women alike, is to dress to gain attention,” said Ashley Graves, the executive director of Choices.  “We want to show how beautiful every woman is, while at the same time dressing in a way that is flattering and modest.”  Graves said the event will include a lunch and tea, with a fashion show featuring spring clothing lines from local boutiques and clothing stores.

Suzanna Tolboom, fashion show coordinator volunteer, said the store owners have been very willing to help out with the fashion show.

“The local clothing stores and boutiques have shown a great deal of support the fashion show,” said Suzanna Tolboom. “They are allowing us to use their most fashionable clothing to express each womens’ individuality without displaying too much skin.”

Tolboom said some stores are donating clothes to wear, some are giving discounts to the models who wear their clothes, and some are donating products from their stores to make baskets for a raffel.  Tolboom said the stores participating are Barbed Wire and Lace, Blue Flamingo, Cato, JcPenney’s, Lace Catcus, Rue 21, Saddle Rags, Tanglez, and 4 Kids Only.

Graves said the Choices Tea and Spring Fashion show will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday and any lady, age 6 and up, is invited.

“I want all ages to come together to celebrate all sizes and ethnicties of women,” Graves said, “and the beauty each one possesses.”

The dress code for this new event is tea attire, including hats. Tolboom laughed as she said she was really excited for the theme and dress code of the event, because it will allow her to dress like a character from a Jane Austin novel. She went to an antique store just to purchase a tea hat and gloves.

To come to the Choices Tea and Spring Fashion Show, RSVP to the Choices Life Resource Center at 254-965-6031 or go to the events page on their website www.choicesinlife.org. After confirming attendance to the event, the tickets can be paid for at the door. A free raffel ticket comes with each ticket and more can be purchased at five for $5. The clothing stores and boutiques will also have booths set up for convienent shopping.
