Team ropers Charly Crawford and Shay Carroll won the championship shootout Saturday to split $50,000 and totaled $54,850 each at the prestigious Houston Stock Show and Rodeo.


Crawford, of Huckabay, and Carroll, of Dublin, roped head and heels in 5.8 seconds in the championship shootout, splitting $100,000 after winning $9,000 throughout the super series and wild card rounds of the near 3-week long rodeo.
The tandem reached the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo together in 2014, and are seventh in the latest 2015 standings posted to prorodeo.com, the official website of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association.
Bobby Mote also earned a nice payout in Houston, tying for second and earning $15,000 in the championship shootout after tying for third in the championship. He collected a total of $22,783 in Houston.

Richie Champion earned $7,350 in bareback riding, Reese Riemer earned $5,800 in tie-down roping. Mote was seventh and Champion 40th in the latest world standings update.
