STEPHENVILLE (May 4, 2015) — The money has been totaled and the big winner is local youth.

The Stephenville Optimist Club raised more than $44,000 with its 43rd annual auction at Wisdom Gym Friday evening.

“We had a lot of success and we had a lot of fun,” said auction chairperson Cheryl Hatton. “We did really well with the auction, and we even had (monetary) donations from people who weren’t able to be here for it.”

All funds help the Optimist Club continue to benefit local youth products such as the Stephenville High School Academic Hall of Fame, the Erath County Junior Livestock Show, All-Stars for special needs youth, the SHS track and field and golf programs, SHS bands, SPARD and much more.
