ERATH COUNTY (May 12, 2015) — The two-vehicle accident at the US Highway 281 and State Highway 6 at 11 a.m. Tuesday morning claimed the life of Donna Jean Kurley, 59 of California.
According to Stephenville-based Texas Highway Patrol Trooper Brandon Middleton, A 2015 Hyundai Sonata was crossing the southbound lane of US 281, failing to yield the right of way to a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up. The pick-up was traveling southbound on 281 at the posted speed limit of 75 mph and struck the Sonata on the right rear passenger side, where it is believed Kurley was sitting.
At the time of the accident, weather was cloudy and rainy, with wet road conditions.
The pick-up was driven by Jean-Pierre Levesque, 52 of Decatur. He was taken to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Stephenville by Erath County EMS. The passenger in the pick-up was Richard Cross, 48 of Kempner, who was also transports to Texas Health in Stephenville.
The Sonata was driven by John H. Gray, 53 of Henderson Nevada, who was transported to Hamilton General Hospital in Hamilton. Sarah Gray, 81 of Henderson Nevada, was taken by Air Ambulance to Scott & White Hospital in Temple.
Middleton reported there were no more updates on injuries at this time.
