STEPHENVILLE — Sponsors, celebrities and even the pros competed in the Shoot For the Troops cowboy mounted shooting at Lone Star Arena Tuesday evening. The event raised thousands of dollars for American300, an organization benefiting troops overseas.
Local sponsors such as James Andrae, J. Bryan Davis, Chick Elms and others competed alongside a celebrity field that included four-time reigning bareback world champion Kaycee Feild, 2014 The American bareback champ Richie Champion, the current 12th ranked tie-down roper in the world Chase Williams, Ben Clements of the United States Team Roping Championships and others. Among the pros were world record holder and event promoter ‘Outlaw Annie.’

Patrons bid on teams in a 50-50 calcutta, and other funds were raised through live and silent auctions.
The Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association now turns its attention to the Cowboy Capital Central US Championship today through Saturday, also at Lone Star Arena. There is over $21,000 in added money including $5,000 added to the classes, according to show details at cmsaevents.com.
