Stephenville PD arrests two for burglaries overnight

On June 19th at approximately 4:45 A.M. the Stephenville Police Department received a call about an alarm at Texan Vapor located at 1917 W. Washington #4.  Upon arrival officers observed the glass in the front door was broken and discovered that an unknown person(s) had entered the business and stolen several items.  Officers processed the crime scene and obtained video, forensic, and biological evidence.

At approximately 9:00 A.M., the owner of Universal Tattoo located at 1280 W. Washington called to report that a subject had just broken into his business and removed property.  The owner was able to give a detailed description of the subject.  Tarleton Police Officers Jimmy Jackson and Steve Miller heard the description of the suspect and a short time later stopped and detained a subject, on TSU property, that matched the description. The subject had in his possession items stolen from both businesses as well as illegal narcotics.

Subsequent interviews by Stephenville CID Detectives led officers to a residence on St. Felix Street where another suspect was taken into custody and additional stolen property was recovered.

SPD arrested:

Roel, Anthony Lawrence- White Male age 23, for Burglary of Building

Sao, Aaron Jia Shyang – Male age 24, for Possession of Controlled Substance

Both subjects were transported to the Erath County Jail.

At the time of this release Officers and Detectives are continuing to interview suspects, seize illegal narcotics and follow additional leads.
