July 13, 2015) — The Stephenville Stingrays placed in the top five 23 times at the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation Region IV Circuit Meet I swim competition in Granbury last Saturday.
Two Stingray boys – Millard Leanmons and Brett Deviney – even brought home victories. Leanmons, 12, won the boys 11-12 100 yard freestyle in 1 minute, 9.93 seconds. Deviney, 14, won the boys 13-14 200 yard freestyle in 2:30.98.
Leanmons was also second in the 50 freestyle, second in the 100 individual medley and third in the 50 breaststroke in his age division, where Grant Baxter also shined by taking third in the 100 free, fourth in the 50 back, fourth in the 50 breast and third in the 100 IM.
DeViney was also fifth in the 100 free and sixth in the 50 back in the boys 13-14 division.
Dillon Barker had a strong day in the boys 13-14 class with three third-place finishes in the 50 back, the 50 breast and the 100 IM. Creece Brister was equally strong in the boys 9-10 division, placing second in the 100 IM and fourth in the 25 breast.
Karter Brown was fifth in the 8U 25 backstroke.
The girls were paced by Amber Cuellar in the 13-14 age grouping. Cuellar was second in the 100 IM and fourth in the 50 breast. Jubilee Gaither was second in the 50 fly and third in the 100 IM in the women’s 18 and over division.
The Stingrays were third in the girls 11-12 200 medley relay, finishing in 3:19.37. The team was comprised of Kenedei Pritchard, Alana Burney, Raelee Dillard and McKenna Dillard.
Girls 13-14 swimmer Lily Fangman was fourth in the 100 IM and fifth in the 200 free.
