County ropers claim spots in upcoming pro rodeo



STEPHENVILLE (September 14, 2015) — Hayse Worthington dominated the 2015 Erath County Team Roping over the weekend, heeling with Ty Murphy for the championship and heading for two other top five pairings to earn three slots in the upcoming Cowboy Capital of the World Pro Rodeo.

Header Ty Murphy and Worthington roped three head in 17.24 to chop $2,880 and claim Classic Equine rope bags, caps and gloves as well as response products.. They were followed in second place by Casey and Heath Hardman in 17.93 on three to split $2,160 and pick up a Hard 8 BBQ gift certificate and Classsic Equine caps and gloves in addition to response products.

Worthington headed for the third and fourth place teams, pairing with Eathan Cory for third in 18.7 and Scotty Raines for fourth in 19.64.

Denton Halford and Tyson Thompson were fifth in 19.75, while the sixth-place tandem of Ky Bray and Cody Falcon needed 19.79 for three head but also had the fast time overall.

The Cowboy Capital of the World Pro Rodeo is next week at Lone Star Arena. There are three public performances Friday-Sunday, September 25-27.
