It’s banquet season! Time for local chamber awards banquets to be held and our communities are no different with Dublin, Hico and Stephenville chambers all confirming their events and ticketing information.

The Dublin Chamber of Commerce will be holding their 2016 Chamber Banquet – ‘Dublin Strong’ -at 6:30 p.m. Monday, January 25 at the Dublin Intermediate School cafetorium (located at 609 Thomas Street). Chamber Executive Director Luanne Schexnider said there will be 30 minutes of social time before supper is served at 7 p.m.

Tickets are still available for ‘Dublin Strong’ at the chamber office. Admission is $18 for members and $25 for non-members. Tickets include supper catered by Granny Clarks and specialty desserts from Sweet Delights by Judy. There will also be a silent auction with proceeds going to the chamber.

Dublin Chamber President Christopher Garza will MC the event; Randy Burch with the SBDC will speak about getting Dublin on the map – Google Maps that is; and Garza will be joined by Ben Pate and Bill Rodriguez will share a few positive words on why they choose Dublin. The Footprint Memorial will be given in honor of James Fritts and the legacy he left in Dublin and this community.

The recognition and awards part of the program will be the presentation and announcement of Citizen of the Year, Business Leader of the Year, Spotlight on Excellence, Faith in the Future, Kenneth McDaniel “Hello My Friend”, Volunteer of the Year and the Billie Kloster Ambassador of 2016.

“This banquet is always a highlight event that starts the year for Dublin Chamber members and this community in a positive way. It takes a lot of hard work and many volunteer hours from the officers and directors and the 2016 Dublin Chamber of Commerce board deserve to be acknowledged,” Schexnider said. “They are Christopher Garza-President, Juanita Torres-Vice President, Kassi Jurney-Treasurer, Glenda Tunnell-Secretary, Michael Beard, Robin Cisneroz, Shana Crouch, Marilyn Krebs, Mike Newton, Heather Rasberry, Nancy Williams, Lisa Walker and interim Russell Walker. It’s wonderful to have monthly updates and advisor input from Dr. Rodney Schneider-DISD Superintendent, Karen Wright- EDC Executive Director , Nancy Wooldridge-City Manager and past president Melvin (Mac) McMullen. This is why we are Dublin Strong!”
