DUBLIN (January 25, 2016) — Dublin came together Monday evening not only to celebrate another year of chamber of commerce success, but to show why they are Dublin Strong.
Dublin Chamber of Commerce members and many residents and visitors gathered at the Dublin Intermediate School Cafetorium for the annual Dublin Chamber of Commerce banquet, with about 300 strong in attendance.
A handful of residents shared why they chose Dublin, including Ben Pate, a Dublin native who has served as a television director of WFAA-TV and more.
“There’s a new day for Dublin, and it’s just around the corner,” said Pate, words echoed by each of the speakers who showed their belief that Dublin is about to take off in terms of economic development and more.
Stephanie Keith, a teacher at DISD, was named the Citizen of the Year, the first of many awards disbursed during the ceremony. Chris Scott was named Business Leader of the Year, Jesslea Johnson received the Spotlight of Excellence award, Justin Stabach was selected for the Faith in the Future of Dublin award, Austin Ly earned the Kenneth McDaniel “Hello My Friend” honor, Olivia Greensage was named Volunteer of the Year, and Terry Slavens and staff at KWBY-FM Radio was presented the Bill Kloster Ambassador of the year award.
Table decorations are half the fun at such events. Recognition for best table decorations went to Golden Age Manor, while Bradberry’s Best and Church of the Lost and Found shared runner-up honors.
