(February 1, 2016) — Stephenville will compete in the same football district but the Stephenville basketball teams and Dublin football team have entirely new leagues.
The UIL released its biennial realignment Monday, effecting the 2016-17 and 2017-18 school years.
Stephenville goes west in football and remains in the same five-team district, while Dublin moves back into Region I after a two-year stint in Region III. The Lions join a district that includes football powers Cisco, Eastland and Coleman.
Stephenville basketball has new scenery as not one team is the same from its current league. The Yellow Jackets and Honeybees will spending a lot of time traveling north and east along US Highway 67, as they did in the first two years after dropping a classification before going west the last two years.
Hico adds state power Crawford to its football district, and Lingleville is in a four-team football district that will see only one miss the playoffs.
