STEPHENVILLE (March 24, 2016) — The Stephenville Optimist Club enjoyed visitors from Henderson Junior High and Stephenville High School at its weekly luncheon at City Hall Wednesday. Several students were honored as youth of the month, while others read their submissions for the Optimist Club Essay Contest.
Optimist Youth of the Month honorees were Ian Middleton of Stephenville High School, Henderson Junior High eighth graders Carson Elston and Salette Rios and HJH seventh graders Grayson Traweek and Karlee Schouten.
The three local winners in the Optimist Essay Contest who read their submissions aloud to club members were Kilanie Arpin and Rebecca Tuggle of SHS and Hailey Stephen of Dublin High School
