Smith named MVP as part of Honeybee hoops ceremony

(April 17, 2016) — The Stephenville girls basketball program held an awards ceremony Sunday afternoon following a season that saw the Honeybees capture their seventh straight area championship and regional quarterfinals appearance.

Team members voted on the top honors, naming senior scoring leader Kali Smith Team MVP, Bayleigh Chaviers Defensive MVP, Payton Wall the 6th Man of the Year and Kaitlyn Pierce the recipient of the Honeybee Award. Chaviers also had her name added to plaques for leading the team in rebounds and assists.

Smith and Chaviers were also named 4A-6A First-Team All-Big Country last week by the sports staff of the Abilene Reporter-News.
