(April 27, 2016) — Led by two-event qualifier London Jones, Dublin has four athletes set to compete in five events at the Region I-3A Track & Field Meet in Abilene this weekend.
Jones, who went to the state meet in the 400 meter as a freshman three years ago, will run the 400 as a senior in the regional meet at Abilene Christian University Friday and Saturday. She placed third at area in 1:00.50.
Jones will also be in the long jump after soaring 15-4-3/4 for another third-place finish at area.

Joining Jones from Dublin are Cole Gilliland in the boys pole vault, Hans Hoeman in the boys 110-meter hurdles and Lorena Cervantes in the girls 3,200-meter run.
Gilliland was third in area by vaulting 12 feet, Cervantes was third by running the two-mile in 12:26 and Hoeman was fourth in the hurdles in 16.26 seconds.
Field events are both Friday and Saturday. Running prelims are Friday with finals on Saturday.
