Mildred Lou Dunn, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2016, in Brownwood, Texas.

She was born on August 4, 1928, in Lampasas, Texas, to Ben and Elizabeth (Weaver) McKissick. On June 22, 1948, she was united in marriage to D. M. Dunn in Stephenville. He preceded her in death on September 6, 1991. Mildred was a kind, gentle and giving person, devoted to her family. She was a homemaker. She loved gardening and every year had a large garden growing many varieties of vegetables, which she canned, and also grew a multitude of colorful flowers. Mildred was also a talented writer and poet. She was a member of Hasse Baptist Church.

She is survived by four sons, Daylon Dunn and wife Paula of Comanche, David Dunn and wife Doris of Comanche, Larry Dunn and wife Janet of Comanche, and Johnny Dunn and wife Grace of Roundrock; daughter, Peggy Swatsell and husband Mickey of Roundrock; twelve grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Dale Dunn; and two grandsons.
