Inez Irene Nowlin, born in Edgemont South Dakota on March 3, 1935 to parents John and Florence (Davis) McElhaney, passed away in Hico, Texas on October 13, 2016 at the age of 81. Inez also known as “mom” or “Nana” by friends and family enjoyed most spending time with her family and friends. Inez was married to A.B. Nowlin May 25, 1954, in Ft. Worth. Inez and A.B. owned and operated Cody’s Trading Post for many years. Preceded in death by her parents, husband A.B. Nowlin, granddaughters Crystal Irene Page, Chandra Renee Harvin and sister Gloria Donahue. Surviving Inez are daughters, Cynthia Ann Nowlin and husband Richard Evans of Clairette, Pamela Jo Gibson and husband Mickey of Glen Rose, son, Michael John Nowlin of Walnut Springs, grandsons Glenn Harvin, John Christian, Brent Christian, granddaughters, Sherry Cox, and Brandy Nowlin. Also surviving Inez are sister Joan Brunswick of Black Hawk, South Dakota and brother Leonard McElhaney of Edgemont, South Dekota, 10 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Service Information
The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15 at the Harvest Hills Funeral Home in Hico. Chapel services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, October 16 at the Harvest Hills Funeral Chapel in Hico. Burial will be in the Clairette Cemetery.
