ERATH COUNTY (October 26, 2016) — Terry Eugene Hess, 26, and Angelica Lena Meeks, 30, both of Mineral Wells are in the Erath County Jail on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for shooting another Mineral Wells resident.

Erath County Sheriff’s Sgt. Tony Yocham said the three individuals came into Erath County from Palo Pinto County on US Highway 281, and just north of Morgan Mill, the subjects pulled onto County Road 144 where the incident occurred.

Yocham said the two subjects called 9-1-1 on Friday to report an incident in which an individual was shot. However, Yocham said they didn’t exactly tell dispatchers the truth.

“They called to report a gunshot victim and Erath County EMS and deputies were dispatched,” he reported. “But once we spoke with them, it was obvious they weren’t telling the truth. They both confessed to me what actually happened and both were arrested.”

Hess and Meeks are both being held with bonds of $500,000 with conditions.  The victim, who has not yet been identified, remains in critical condition at a Fort Worth hospital.
