STEPHENVILLE (December 14, 2016) — Following is a preview of Tarleton State men’s basketball, courtesy Tarleton Athletic Communications:

THE GAME
No. 15 Tarleton takes a break from Lone Star Conference action to face Southwestern Adventist on Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 7:30 p.m. in Wisdom Gym.

THE BROADCAST
Each game will have a live radio broadcast presented by the Tarleton Sports Network presented by North Texas Ford Dealers. The Voice of the Texans, Byron Anderson, will be calling the play-by-play for Tarleton basketball this season. ABOUT THE TEXANS
No. 15 Tarleton (8-1, 4-0) is on a 5-game winning streak and first in the Lone Star Conference with a 4-0 record. The Texans are the No. 2-ranked defense in the NCAA in terms of opponent field goal percentage at 35.2. Tarleton is averaging 75.7 points per game and giving up 61.2 points, which ranks fifth in the NCAA. Ridell Camidge leads the Texans in scoring at 14.1 ppg. Deshawn Riddick (11.8), Romond Jenkins (10.9) and Chantz Chambers (10.6) are also averaging double figures. Jenkins is the team-leader in rebounds at 10.7 boards per game. Riddick leads the team in assists at 4.1.

THE OPPONENT: SOUTHWESTERN ADVENTIST
Southwestern Adventist is 0-13 on the season and competes in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association. The Knights average 73 points per game on 41 percent shooting. JaColby Hardin-Crawford leads the team with 18.3 points per game. Kevin Squarzon (16.9), Travis Gagau (12.9) and Fatai Eke (10.9) are averaging double figures.

THE SERIES: SWAU
Tarleton is 5-0 all-time against Southwestern Adventist. The Texans defeated the Knights 113-50 last season. Tarleton has scored over 105 points four times against Southwestern Adventist.

LAST TIME OUT
Tarleton defeated Western and Eastern New Mexico on the road to improve to 4-0 in LSC play.

UP NEXT FOR TARLETON
Tarleton will travel to Las Vegas to play Simon Fraser (Canada) and No. 13 Western Washington on Dec. 18-19.
