ERATH COUNTY (December 23, 2016) – Beyond the gift giving, glitter and feasts of plenty, families are gathering to celebrate the true reason for the season. A true Christian celebration, the Christmas story was not built on monetary gifts, but the gift of the son of God, the birth of Jesus Christ.

From a church that thinks outside the box, offering a fun-filled family event with magic and wonder and another celebrating alongside nursing home residents to a traditional annual community dinner and worship services, congregations across Erath County are opening their hearts and doors, inviting you to celebrate during services planned for Friday through Sunday.

Here are just a few for your family to consider:

FRIDAY – Christmas Eve, Eve

TRC hosts family fun

Timber Ridge Church hosts Rockin’ Christmas, with two services, at 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Friday.

The fun-filled Christmas experience includes a lot more than traditional church services, such as rockin’ Christmas music, pictures with Santa, carriage rides, s’mores around the campfire, Christmas treats, a hot cocoa bar, classic Christmas carols, 100 percent chance of snow and even more fun and treats for children inside the kid’s ministry.

The event is open to the entire community and promises to be a fun-filled event celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, so pack up your family and take a few friends.

The church is located at FM 8 (Lingleville Highway) North Bates Street in Stephenville.
