(January 27, 2017) — Freshman sensation Ciara Johnston amassed five goals as Stephenville torched host Burkburnett 12-1 in a high school girls soccer match Friday.

It was the 10th straight win for Stephenville (11-1), which has outscored its opponents by a whopping 59-2 on the young season.

Johnston also assisted on a goal in the blowout, and Stephenville picked up two goals each by freshman Haleigh Beam and senior Railee Reed. Freshman Gracie Bales scored a goal and dealt two assists while Natalie Elizondo and Claire Chote each had a goal and an assist.

Mackinzee Reed dished out a pair of assists, and Savannah Alford Jimena Espinoza, Alexis De Los Santos and Brinkley Harlow assisted on one goal each.

Burkburnett’s goal, though a fluke, did end one impressive streak by the Bees, who had shut out their nine prior opponents.
