LSC WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Eastern New Mexico holds a two-game advantage in the Lone Star Conference standings at 14-2 in league games.  Angelo State and West Texas A&M are tied for second at 12-4 in LSC action.
The last two weeks of play will determine the eight teams and seeding for the LSC Championship, set for March 2-5 in Allen, Texas.
LSC play continues this week with one league contest Tuesday and five on both Thursday and Saturday.
The LSC women are 137-115 overall. The women’s squads are currently 14-9 combined against the Heartland, and 9-9 versus RMAC teams, which are the other conferences in the NCAA South Central Region.

OFFENSIVE
Bailey Wipff, Tarleton State University, SR, Guard, Lubbock, Texas, Coronado HS
Wipff saved her best performances for her last two games in Wisdom Gym as the senior from Lubbock combined for 48 points in Tarleton’s wins over Texas A&M-Kingsville and No. 12 Angelo State. Wipff set a new career high with 24 points on 8-13 shooting from the floor, including 4-9 from downtown, and 4-4 at the free throw line against Texas A&M-Kingsville Thursday night.  She followed up by tying her career high with 24 points again, including the game-winning free throws off a technical foul with one second left to deliver the upset win against the Rambelles on WatchESPN Saturday afternoon. Trailing by 11 with 4:55 left in the game, Wipff took over the game down the stretch. The senior scored seven points, including the game-winning free throws, while also dishing out two assists and collecting an offensive rebound to lead Tarleton’s 20-7 game-winning run. For the week, Wipff shot .667 (16-24) from the floor, .571 (8-14) from beyond the arc, and 1.000 from the charity stripe (8-8).

DEFENSIVE
Ikpeaku Iwobi, Tarleton State University, SR, Forward, Houston, Texas, Cy Creek HS
Iwobi was a defensive force for Tarleton as she led the TexAnns to back-to-back wins over Texas A&M-Kingsville and No. 12 Angelo State. The senior from Houston grabbed 16 rebounds in two games, including 10 on the defensive end, highlighted with a 17-point, 11-rebound effort against the Rambelles. She anchored the Tarleton defense that held the Javelinas and Rambelles to 65.0 points per game over two games and a .217 shooting mark from beyond the arc.
