On the Go Food Demonstrations and Sampling-Running from one obligation to the other is often a recipe for disaster.  How many times have you let yourself get too hungry then thought “oh, I’ll just zip through the fast-food restaurant this one time”? Or you let yourself get too hungry so when you got home even the most unattractive food choices seem delicious!  Join us for a lesson on preparing some quick, on the go snacks which are delicious AND nutritious.

Contemplative Time-Reverend Grubbs will nourish our spirit by guiding us through a time of reflection and thought.  Taking just a few minutes once a week or even once a month helps allow our spirit to find rest and renewal.  This brief exercise offers a refreshing approach to developing the spirit.

Yoga Session-Time to move our bodies!  Our on local yogi, Keri Tomaski will guide us through some easy and gentle movements to center us into a quiet moment as well as provide nourishment for our muscles and joints.

Importance of Focusing on You and Your Whole Self-Often we get so busy with our lives that we pour all we have into one thing.  Sometimes that one thing is work.  Sometimes it is play.  But a healthier approach is to think of your life as an interconnected system where if you completely ignore one thing (such as health or spirit) your life isn’t the best it can be.  Join Francine Pratt in thinking about focusing on your whole self.

Fitness Minutes-Certified Personal Trainer, Lucy Brassfield gets our hearts pumping with some innovative movement.  Lucy, who provides insights into all aspects of wellness and has a degree from Tarleton State University, will show us how to get health benefits without having to be at the gym.

Painting with Our Own Twist-Local artist, Leslie Miller, offers us an opportunity to have our inner creative be set free.  Leslie will provide guidance for us on a simple creation but allow for our own expression.  So silence that inner critic and announce, I CAN be creative!  Ready, set, go!

Nourishing Your Body & Soul-What we put into our body and soul is vital to what we produce!  First Christian Church is thrilled to partner with Holly Stahnke of Two Clay Birds, Farm & Garden Market to explore holistic well-being.  Holly brings a wealth of expertise to us as we explore optimal well-being related to making optimal choices to nourish ourselves.

Yoga Session-Time to move our bodies!  Tarleton’s own expert yogi, Rachel Cinquepalmi will guide us through some easy and gentle movements to center us into a quiet moment as well as provide nourishment for our muscles and joints.

Using Essential Oils for Better Wellness-Antibiotic-resistant…Superbugs…Largest outbreak in 22 years…..So much of today’s health news focuses on fear-inducing topics.  We will take a few minutes to return to pure and proven notions about wellness.  Remember when your grandmother would slather your chest with salve to help you breath better?  Or maybe you’ve taken local honey to help with allergies.  In this session we will learn about essential oils and how a three popular oils might keep you above the wellness line!

Succulents-Beautiful and Useful-Plants serve a greater purpose than just being pretty; they actually play a role in overall wellness.  Plants fill our environment and lungs with life-giving oxygen.  Popular in the 1970s, succulents are seeing a resurgence in popularity and for good cause!  We will explore a fun and interactive design of succulent plantings activity with Ms. Shockey and end up with a treat to take hope with you!
