Pansy Hook Roberts, 90 of Stephenville, died Sunday, May 14, 2017 in Amarillo.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, May 18th at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Fritscher officiating. Burial will follow at East Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pansy was born on September 24, 1926 in Stephenville to the late Hillman Jackson and Ethel Lorena Allred Hook. After graduation from high school, Pansy attended Tarleton State College and West Texas A&M University. She married Ralph Roberts in 1946. Pansy worked in accounting and banking numerous years in Tulia, Waxahachie and Stephenville. She moved back to Stephenville in 1976 where she began working at Erath Electric Cooperative Association (United Cooperative Services). She retired from there in 1996.

Pansy was an avid bridge player, raised and showed Rottweilers, and was very active in local, state, and national dog shows. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, a pilot and winner of the Women’s Flight Achievement Award that was presented by W. T. Piper.

Survivors include her daughters, Sharon Spradling and husband Ron of Stonewall, OK, and Marian Staton and husband Jerry of Stephenville and Amarillo; grandchildren, Amy Wood Young of Stinnett, Camaron Garrett and husband Roy of Decatur, Shelly Staton Wilson and husband Barry of Amarillo, Hunter Wood and wife Laura of Chico, and Evan Thomas Staton of Stephenville; great grandchildren, Cade, Seth, Jacob, Nate, Isabel, Elise, Libbie, Ally, and Grady; nieces and nephews, Marva Gentzel, Norma Gilbert, Jack Carter, and Steve Carter.

Besides her parents, Pansy was also preceded in death by her siblings, Gladys Golightly, Agnes Carter, Robert Allred and Obie Allred.
