FINDLAY, OHIO (May 20, 2017) – Casey Wild shot a 3-over-par 75 in the final round of the NCAA Division II Championships to card a 304 (+16) overall and finish sixth at the Findlay Country Club.
It’s the best individual finish in the NCAA Championship for Wild, who finished 12th as a freshman and 32nd as a sophomore. Wild had rounds of 75-77-77-75. St. Leo’s Marie Coors won the individual title with a 295 (+7). Barry University won the team championship by one stroke over Dallas Baptist with a score of 1,222 (+70).
The Lone Star Conference Player of the Year and No.7-ranked player in the nation had one birdie in the round, on a par-4 No.13. Wild also had 13 pars in the round. Wild shot +2 on the front nine and +1 on the back nine. Overall, Wild had 45 pars in the four rounds and six birdies.
For the season, Wild had 11 top-20 finishes and placed in the top 10 nine times. Wild’s final scoring average for the season is 74.1 in 27 rounds, both tops on the team.
