STEPHENVILLE – Tarleton’s Casey Wild was selected by The Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) as an All-American Scholar, the organization announced on Wednesday.
It’s the second straight season that Wild has been named an All-American Scholar by the WGCA. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics with the minimum cumulative GPA being 3.50.
Wild was recently named to first-team All-American and first-team All-Region by the WGCA. In addition, Wild was the Lone Star Conference Player of the Year and LSC Academic Player of the Year for women’s golf. The junior from Australia, who finished the year ranked No. 9 in the nation according to GolfStat.com, placed sixth individually at the NCAA Division II Championships.
