Tarleton rebounded from its first loss in conference play with its biggest win of the season by topping No. 11 Angelo State on the road in four sets. Now the TexAnns return home after three weeks on the road to take on West Texas A&M and UT Permian Basin. The TexAnns (8-4, 2-1) face WT (8-4, 3-0) on Friday, Sept. 22 at 6 p.m. and turn around to host UTPB (4-7, 1-2) on Saturday at 2 p.m.GAME COVERAGE

LAST TIME OUT
For the first time since 2006, the TexAnns went on the road and defeated Angelo State. It was another top-25 matchup for the No. 17-ranked TexAnns, who topped the No. 11 Rambelles in four sets. It’s the fourth win of the season for the TexAnns over an AVCA top-25 team.

IN THE NATIONAL SPOTLIGHT
Tarleton Volleyball continues its run as a national ranked team as the TexAnns enter the weekend contests as the No. 17 team in the American Volleyball Coaches Association poll. Tarleton’s first national ranking came in the final poll of the 2016 season when the TexAnns debuted at No. 25. They have been ranked in every release since – opening the season at No. 25, moving to No. 17 last week, and No. 14 last week, which was the highest ranking in program history.

CHASING HISTORY: THE DRIVE FOR 2405
Hailey Roberts enters Wednesday’s match with 2,046 career kills and is on the heels of the Lone Star Conference kills record, which has been held by Central Oklahoma’s Alma Brahimaj since 2002. Brahimaj boasts 2,404 career kills during her 1999-02 tenure with the Bronchos.

SERIES HISTORY: WEST TEXAS A&M
Friday will be the 50th career match between Tarleton and West Texas A&M since the two teams first met in 1993. The Lady Buffs hold the all-time series lead at 7-42, but the TexAnns have won the last five matches. Tarleton swept WT in the last match in Wisdom Gym, marking the first sweep over the Lady Buffs in program history.

SERIES HISTORY: UT PERMIAN BASIN
Tarleton holds the all-time series lead over UT Permian Basin 6-5. Saturday will be the 12th match since the two teams first squared off in 2004. The TexAnns have won three straight over the Falcons and five out of six. Tarleton has never gone to five sets against UTPB, with four of the six wins resulting in a sweep.
 
UP NEXT FOR TARLETON
The TexAnns will head back on the road to San Antonio for a non-conference doubleheader against two Heartland opponents on Friday, Sept. 29. The TexAnns will play Lubbock Christian at 1 p.m. and St. Mary’s at 4 p.m.
