STEPHENVILLE (September 22, 2017) — It looked as if Glen Rose might actually be forced to play a fourth set, something only seven opponents have forced the No. 1 Lady Tigers to do this season.

Stephenville is always a tough customer on the volleyball hardwood and led set 3 by a 24-20 margin, needing just one point to become the first team since Lorena on September 5 to push Glen Rose past the minimum.

But the Lady Tigers wouldn’t go down, reminding all at Tiger Arena that indeed they can go on the type of runs you would expect out the No. 1 rated team in a conference, with the final six points securing a fifth consecutive straight-sets victory, this one going down as 25-15, 25-20, 26-24.

Glen Rose is off Tueday and welcomes No. 3 Midlothian Heritage to Tiger Arena for perhaps the most highly anticipated regular season match in Conference 4A sine the conference structure changed, making these teams 4A and not 3A. Heritage also swept Stephenville this week, traveling to Gandy Gym and taking an epic 70-point second set as part of a 25-15, 36-34, 25-10 sweep.

Stephenville is also idle Tuesday and home next Friday when Venus visits the Bees, who were led Friday by Jayci Morton with five kills and four blocks and Hailey Martin with 14 digs.
