STEPHENVILLE (November 30, 2017) – After his initial arrest on November 17, Timothy Travis Simon, a former youth minister at the Graham Street Church of Christ in Stephenville, is back behind bars this morning for six new charges involving possession or promotion of child pornography.
The investigation into Simon had been going on for nearly a month when he was first arrested. And shortly following his initial arrest, Graham Street CoC officials said Simon had resigned as a minister in the days before he was taken into custody.
Simon’s attorney for the original charge is Shay Isham, and no new attorney is listed in official court documents as of 8 a.m. Thursday morning. Simon bonded out of the Erath County Jail on $15,000 bond for his Nov. 17 arrest for the same charge, different count on November 18. This arrest means Simon is facing seven total charges for the possession or promotion of child pornography. There are no bonds currently listed for the six new charges.
According to reports, Simon’s is married with a family, living in Stephenville and is a graduate of Lockhart HS and Abilene Christian University.
Church members have remained tight-lipped about the incident and say they are praying for Simon and working together to comfort his family in this difficult time.
This is the church that told me I wasn’t welcome there because im transgender and was open and honest about it and dressed in womens clothes. They however were home to a thief (convicted felon Paul Lansford) and now ex youth minister/ suspected child pornographer. How sad for them. I wonder whats next for Graham street Church of Christ.
