THE GAME
Tarleton men’s basketball is set to play Wayland Baptist in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday, December 19 at 7 p.m. in Wisdom Gym.

ABOUT THE PIONEERS:
Wayland Baptist comes in with a 9-2 record overall and 2-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference (NAIA). The Pioneers started 7-0 and played Division I Rice Univeristy to a 79-72 loss in an exhibition game. WBU is averaging 86.1 points on 47 percent shooting and holding team sto 76.1 points. Wayland Baptist has six players averaging double figures, led by J.J. Culver’s 14.9 points.

THE SERIES: WAYLAND BAPTIST
Tarleton and Wayland Baptist are playing for the fourth time in program history and the first time since 2003. The Texans hold the series lead at 2-1, with the lone loss coming in Plainview in 1991. The Texans are 2-0 at home against Wayland Baptist, winning by an average score of 19.5 points.

LAST TIME OUT
Tarleton fell to No. 16 Western Oregon 80-72 last Tuesday. Corinthian Ramsey led all scorers with 25 points while Josh Hawley posted his fourth double-double of the season with 11 points and 12 rebounds.

The Texans will take on No. 2 Queens (N.C.) on Saturday, Dec. 30 at 4 p.m. in Wisdom Gym.
